January 2009

ServeGlobal Focus Country of the Month

Posted on January 6, 2009 at 10:20am. No Comments

Ethiopia is our featured focus country of the month. We have a variety of initiatives in Ethiopia, one in particular is with the Wonchi Area Development Project. Our hopes are to provide resource’s to this community over a three year period. Some problems that need assistance are under-developed irrigation structures, inadequate water supply and education and health services.

If you would like to help the Wonchi area you can make your check out to Church at Charlotte and note ServeGlobal - Wonchi project, or simply keep them and our initiatives in your prayers!

More information about our other initiatives in Ethiopia will be available in future blog posts.

Hope Cancer is our featured partnering ministry for the month of January. Hope Cancer Ministries is a faith-based cancer support ministry that interacts with individuals, families and churches to offer compassion, encouragement and hope to the cancer community. Their services are always free of charge, and are supported 100% by corporate, church and individual donations.

Volunteers are always needed. There are many ways to get involved – through their prayer ministry, card-writing, helps ministry and food pantry. If you’d like to learn more about getting involved at Hope Cancer, please attend the next training session for volunteers on January 24 from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with breakfast and lunch provided. You can register in the Courtyard anytime in January.
