New Hope Info

Our team made it safely to China and I’ve posted an update below from Bill Walthall.  Enjoy!

I just wanted to provide a brief update on our meeting at New Hope Orphanage. We were able to spent the morning with New Hope children and the staff. It is incredible to see God work thru Robin & Joyce as they extend medical care to an additional 100 children that would have had little chance to live in the current care system in China. We experienced God’s beautiful plan for these children and know that Robin and Joyce’s faithfulness is being honored in the joyful faces of so many children and lifes they will touch as they join new families in the future. New Hope is adding two new medical care wings this year in other Chinese government orphanages and this allows them to place more Christian staff and medical personnel in other locations around the country. It is the New Hope way of witnessing in China.

The CAC Children’s ministry has become a part of this witness by providing vital clothing and medical supplies that facilitate the opening of the new New Hope locations. We were able to see these donations already being used in the medical care wing of New Hope - Beijing this morning and it is clear that these supplies will make a difference in the children’s lives. For that we praise the Lord.

God Bless,
RJ

Earth Day Thoughts

Posted on April 23, 2010 at 6:37pm. No Comments

Earth Day promotions, articles, and reports are everywhere.  Even TV shows now have Earth Day themes blended in.  A main theme of Earth Day seems to be energy conservation and living in the Western world I get that.  Even though I travel a good bit to developing nations, it doesn’t take long to forget how people outside of developing nations live everyday.

According to an article on MSNBC, 1.6 billion people live without electricity.  We talk conservation while over a billion people simply dream about having light at night.  I’ve posted a short video below that I found stirring and I hope you do as well.

God Bless,
RJ
