Thanks Cedric for your ministry this weekend. God has given us some wonderful pastors to help shepherd CAC. I am attending a pastor’s conference for the EFCA and these times are how I get my batteries replenished. I hope you like the new web page, we think it is more user friendly than before and will get you to the ministry you want much easier. I believe God is doing some wonderful things at church and I hope you are experiencing them as you join us week after week.

Thanks, joy and praise - those three words are not front and center for most of us these days. We are much more likely to dwell on fear, frustration and hopelessness given the state of the world around us. However when the Psalmist tells us to shout for joy, to bring praise and have thankfulness in our hearts it is not for the circumstances we face but because of who God is. I pray that today my mind and yours will be centered on the reality of the great God we serve.
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” - Psalm 100:5

We talked yesterday about life in the inner man, the need for us to open up to the working of the Spirit in our heart and mind. The prophet Jeremiah gives a wonderful word picture of how that looks in chapter 4:3,4. “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns…circumcise your hearts.”All too often I leave the ground of my heart unplowed. It gets hard and baked over and then I wonder why God isn’t working in my life. Like a farmer I leave the soil of my life unattended and the results are predictable. I encourage you to spend some time this week plowing the soil of your inner man so the Spirit has fresh soil to work in.

Following Jesus means many things but one of the basic realities is we will walk different. I am not talking about our stride or even our pace - I mean we will walk different than the world. I will choose at times a different path. My values will reflect a different mind-set and the impact will be felt in relationships, choices and priorities. Why not let your walk be unique this week?
