Serving Others

At Church at Charlotte, we believe it is important to serve others. That is why “serving others” is a core part of our mission statement. One ministry that we love to serve is Joni and Friends. Dedicated to extending the love and message of Christ to people who are affected by disability, their families, caretakers and friends, Joni and Friends is a ministry worth taking part in.

We invite you and your family to join us during one of our two weeks of family retreats at Joni and Friends in Flat Rock, NC. The first week is July 27 - August 1, the second is August 10 - 15. As a volunteer your family will recieve a full day of training in preparation for the arrival of the campers and their families. Volunteers who are 16 or older will server one-on-one all week with a “buddy” affected by disability. It is a great time for both volunteers and families of disabled children. While volunteers have fun with the campers, their parents will be able to attend worship and teaching sessions, as well as small group connecting times.
