Back to Psalm 103 and a look at the character of God. After talking about the benefits that God gives his children David turns to a description of God’s character. It is the what of who God is.
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in love.
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”
What a great God we have. The picture begins to come into focus that the benefits we have flow out of the character of who God is. I particularly love the reality that he doesn’t treat us as we deserve. His graciousness is an example for me of how I need to be gracious toward others.
