Stirred By The Scriptures

There is hardly a morning that I don’t read the paper. I read the sports section, local and state and the front page and national news. I read it to stay informed. I keep hoping that something will be there indicating that the difficult times will come to an end and people will find jobs. As important as the paper is it shouldn’t be the first thing I read and it won’t be the most significant reading I do. For me those words are found in the Bible. Listen to the Psalmist - “Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God speaks words to us that will last for all time and those words will give insight and direction to daily living. I probably won’t stop reading the paper but will never be the firsts or last word I read.
