Stirred By The Scriptures

My grandson is fascinated by the movie Polar Express. One of the characters is a young boy who is having a hard time believing in Santa Claus. The result is he cannot hear the Christmas Bell when it rings. It is only when he believes that he hears the wonderful sounds of the bell. We watched it for the 120th time (actually I have lost count how many times we have seen it) on Thanksgiving. I so enjoy sitting with him and watching his imagination at work. Beyond that though I thought about believing and what God calls us to as it relates to Jesus. For many people believing in Jesus is about as hard as believing in Santa. It is only when you do believe that you begin to hear the sounds of sins forgiven and the joy of relationship. One day my grandson will come to understand there is no Santa and one day my prayer is he will believe in Jesus and hear the sound of heaven rejoicing. I hope you believe.
