Stirred By The Scriptures

We talked yesterday about life in the inner man, the need for us to open up to the working of the Spirit in our heart and mind.  The prophet Jeremiah gives a wonderful word picture of how that looks in chapter 4:3,4. “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns…circumcise your hearts.”All too often I leave the ground of my heart unplowed.  It gets hard and baked over and then I wonder why God isn’t working in my life.  Like a farmer I leave the soil of my life unattended and the results are predictable.  I encourage you to spend some time this week plowing the soil of your inner man so the Spirit has fresh soil to work in.
