Struggling Well With Life

A new year - an old man

I have been asking God for clarity lately. Clarity about the things in my life that need to be accommodated, and the things that need to be eradicated. I will have been a christian for 40 years this July, and there are some things in me that seem to just be a part of this complicated package that God made me to be. What are the things in me that are still needing to be purged, and what are the realities that will stay with me until I depart for the other side? Paul, the chief of sinners, had victory over sin - but he also had those dag gum thorns in the flesh that were with him as a constant. As I look at a new year, I am asking what the things are that have the potential for victory, and what are the things that I am supposed to literally accommodate and depend on God today and tomorrow for the grace to be obedient, in spite of them. A new year, an old story, an old man.
